UAE’s FTA Encourages Swift Corporate Tax Registration for June Financial Year Entities
The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) is urging businesses, both in the public and private sectors, whose fiscal years span from June to May, to promptly complete their tax registration process. The corporate tax registration program was launched in June and has reportedly been progressing smoothly, according to industry insiders.
For these entities, the deadline for fulfilling corporate tax obligations for the current fiscal year is set for February 2025.
It’s worth noting that the majority of companies in the UAE adopt different fiscal year structures, such as January-to-December or a 12-month period commencing on April 1.
The FTA has introduced a straightforward four-step registration process, which can be comfortably completed within 30 minutes. This can be accessed via the EmaraTax portal available on their website.
For those entities already registered for VAT and excise tax, a simple login to their tax account on the EmaraTax portal is all that’s needed. From there, they can select the option to register for corporate tax, fill out the requisite forms, and provide the necessary documentation. Upon approval, they will receive a Tax Registration Number specific to corporate tax.
Entities that are not currently registered for VAT or excise tax should create a new User Profile on EmaraTax’s portal using the link ‘eservices.tax.gov.ae’. Once the user profile is created, registration can be completed by creating a taxable person profile, selecting the option to register for corporate tax and applying for registration.
