Enhanced Flexibility for Companies as Dubai Free Zones Council Allows Selection of Preferred Zones and Regulates Mainland Expansion

In its 24th meeting, the Dubai Free Zones Council (DFZC) discussed devising a range of strategic initiatives designed to grant companies the flexibility to select their preferred free zones. This progressive move is anticipated to foster a conducive environment for startups and aspiring entrepreneurs seeking to establish their ventures within these free zones.

Furthermore, the council considered the process of overseeing the activities of establishments licensed within the free zones, when they extend their operations into the mainland.

Such an expansion would necessitate adherence to a set of legal protocols, including securing the requisite permits from the pertinent licensing authority and maintaining seamless coordination with the corresponding free zone authority.

This streamlined approach would enable the opening of branches within the emirate for conducting business activities directly from the free zone location, all in strict compliance with the procedures mandated by the licensing authority.
