Dubai: New Decree to Subject Public-Interest Entities to CDA Supervision

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, issued Decree No. (9) of 2022 to subject public-interest entities to the regulatory supervision and control of Dubai’s Community Development Authority (CDA).

Under the new decree, public-interest entities are required to adhere to transparency standards and maintain up-to-date financial and administrative records to submit them for the review of the Community Development Authority whenever needed.

Failure to adhere to the provisions of this decree and the decisions issued pursuant to it will entail actions taken against the entity, including disciplinary action, as per the law on Regulating Civil Society Organisations, and even dissolution of the entity.

Decisions required to implement this decree will soon be issued by the Director General of CDA and published in the official gazette.

The Decree annuls any other contradictory legislation and enters into effect from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
